Symptoms

A pale or red patch on the skin with loss of sensation; thickening or oily, shiny skin; thickened or painful nerves in hands and feet; loss of sensation with or without deformities in extremities.

The most common cause of curable blindness. Occurs when the normal transparent lens of the eye becomes cloudy; and is mostly due to aging. A few cases are due to trauma or secondary to disease of the eyes. A small percentage of cataracts are congenital (present at birth).

Symptoms

Diminished distance or near vision. Glare especially to the headlights of vehicles; increase in the number of times spectacles required to be changed. In advanced cases, mature cataracts appear as white reflex in the eyes.

Is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. The chronic hyperglycemia of diabetes is associated with long term damage, dysfunction and failure of various organs; especially the Eyes, Kidneys, Nerves, Heart and Blood Vessels.

Symptoms

Blurred vision; Excessive hunger; Excessive thirst; Frequent urination; Loss of weight; Numbness in feet; Delayed healing of wounds or infections.
